What is ars sacra?

Galaxies turn around an unseen centre.
The suns circle around a central star.
The planets travel around the sun.
The earth moves on its route around the sun
while it turns around its own axis.
Electrons circle the nucleus of the atom.

Where is the centre around which human beings turn?

Turning gives birth to pulsation:
The seasons
Day and night
Going out into life - coming back to silence.
The breath - in and out.

Pulsation gives and dissolves form.
The centre remains, it is the form that comes and goes.
When the old dies the new is formed every moment.
To take part in it is life.

Every time needs a new formulation of reality;
the reality around which we circle.
Just as every day is different from all other days.
Just as every breath is new.

Art has always been holy; ars sacra:
Presentation of reality in a form belonging to our time.

ars sacra:
Our own formulation of how we, ourselves, perceive the reality here and now.

ars sacra:
The study of past models of reality in words and pictures.

ars sacra:
Translation of the meaning of old forms in the language of today.

ars sacra:
Approaching our own unseen centre around which we circle.

ars sacra:
Moving in only one direction:
Towards unity of all existence, in which the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE are ONE.
